I’m going to Miami…Here’s a nugget for the road…

Hey everyone,

I’m going to Miami this week, so there will most likely not be an episode of LopezRadio next week.  Use this time to catch up on the last two episodes and this week’s episode!  I’ll be back, no worries.  Got good stuff this week.  There’s always the great rock and hip hop music, Campbell’s recalling some childhood favorite food, Classy ex-con steals a 5 year-old’s jewelry, bus driving child pornographers, and so much more!  Thanks for the support and I love you all. New episode listed below:

LopezRadio Episode 3-1

LopezRadio Episode 3-2

LopezRadio Episode 2… “Eating Dreams and Producing Inspiration.”

All three parts of LopezRadio Episode 2 are up for grabs!!!  I actually stuck with the rock side of things for a little longer this week because I was way into it and didn’t want it to stop, haha.  I hope you enjoy what I have so far.  The music is good, the content is hopefully compelling, and it’s something all people that are rock and talk fans should enjoy.  Thanks for the patience and support!  Any questions or comments can be directed toward lopezradio@gmail.com  (Episode parts are below:  Right-click and save as to download, or just left click to open in a new window and stream on your computer!)

Thanks again for all your support!  You guys are great!

So yeah, I’m trying this, haha…

Hello Good fellows and madams,

I have now attempted a podcast hybrid with talking and music.  We’ll see how it works out.  Keep in mind this is the first one and may sound rough.  I’m also my own worst critic.  I wanted to experiment with mixing rock and hip hop.  I ended up separating them into 30 minutes of each.  Hopefully, if you don’t enjoy my jib jab, you’ll enjoy the music I’m throwing at you.  If you have any suggestions, email me at lopezradio@gmail.com.  You can click and listen to this week’s episode or right-click and save it so you can drop on your favorite MP3 device.  Many thanks.

So Robin Williams surprised me today…

Not kidding.  I watched a movie called World’s Greatest Dad.  Surprisingly enough, it was writte and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait.  Looking at the image for the movie on the Netflix instant queue, it appeared to be another family movie akin to “RV” or “Flubber”.  Luckily, this was not the case.  It’s actually quite a good, sometimes dark, sometimes raunchy movie.  I was very surprised.

It spoke volumes about how big of douchebags our society can be when it comes to memorializing somebody when they die and what hangers-on people can be if the majority is going along with something.  And I’m not going for the “nonconformity MAAAAAN” angle at all.  I’ve just seen similar things to this story (obviously in smaller circumstances) and it’s funny, and you shake your head at it if you have any sense.

Basically, Lance (Williams) is a failed writer and teacher at a high school.  After his son dies in a freak accident, he decides to ghostwrite his suicide note and memoir.  It’s written so well that it becomes a hit on a very large scale.

I have to say that I’m very surprised with how well it’s written and just how brash some of the subject matter was.  It definitely brought Robin Williams into a much different light for me.  I mean I know he makes a good dirty comic and he has had a few decent serious roles in films (i.e. Insomnia and One Hour Photo), but this was so well done.  I suggest it highly and, like I said, it’s on Netflix Instant Streaming.  Check it out!
